My mother always taught me that difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. I was born here in Brooklyn, New York, however, I grew up in a country named Senegal situated in West Africa. I left the US when I was 23 days old to go to Senegal. I landed in Dakar which is the capital of Senegal, however, I was not in my real town Ziguinchor. To go to Ziguinchor you either have to take a car, boat or plane. My dad wanted to come to Dakar to get my mother and me to go back to Ziguinchor. He took the boat but unfortunately the boat crash. The worst thing was that they did not find the body so the family were just confused. I never got the chance to see my dad, him neither. As a human being, just the thought of living without both of your parents hurts. However, living without a father figure in my life did not have a lot of negative impact. I never felt alone because I have the most strong, beautiful, loving and supportive mother on earth. My dad was a play soccer, after my father death my mother put me in a soccer team since I was 5 my mother said. I was playing since then however, when i grew up and heard the story of my dad. I decided to follow up his dream and become a soccer. I start taking soccer seriously because i want to make my father proud wherever he is. My mother has always been there for me and supposing me since day one, she has been my mother and dad and never gave up on me. thus, i cannot afford to let her down. Since I was born my life has been regular, I went to school in Ziguinchor all the way to my 9th grade. My Grandmother saw my dedication in soccer and she decided to buy me a ticket to come to the US. I came on October 2nd 2017. I saw all the sacrifices my mother had to go through which motivate me to do better every single day. I cannot afford to let my mother and dad down. Therefore, i would do anything to make this dream come truth. my motto is becoming a professional soccer player or dying knowing that i worked hard enough to be a professional.
