My name is Mateo Kardum and I am in my junior year at St. Francis Preparatory School where I am a member of the varsity soccer team. I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember, and have always wanted to play on a collegiate level. Soccer is a significant part of my life, the sport has taught me about the importance of teamwork, following direction and consistency. I am an extremely motivated individual, priding myself on my ability to maintain a balance when it comes to my sports and academic related commitments. I am proud to be maintaining a 4.0 GPA for this school year, while remaining fully invested in my extracurricular commitments. I have been very fortunate in the sense that I have been invited to attend training camps run by prominent teams all across Europe, exposing me to a variety of styles and techniques. These include Macclesfield FC in England, NK Lokomotiva in Croatia and Barca Academy in Barcelona, Spain. Coaches have commended me on my ability to play multiple positions and read a game well, resulting in me earning a Coach’s Award at my high school in my junior year. Other important attributes of mine are that I am able to use both feet, have strong tackles and move with speed and agility. As my graduation date grows closer I have been thinking more and more about my education following high school. I am interested in studying Mathematics or Accounting and my aim is to find a school with an environment that will allow me to continue in my journey of development as both a soccer player and a student.
