My name is Tanner Kratil, I am currently in the 10th grade at Ithaca High School in upstate New York. I have been playing soccer since I was three years old, starting at local clubs and finding my way to Syracuse Development Academy (SDA). I have been playing with SDA for the past four years, honing my skills as an outside back and winger. With my high soccer IQ, speed and foot skills I am able to excel as an outside back. As a U16 I have had the opportunity to train under Jukkapekka Masalin the Syracuse University Associate Coach and the 2022 NCAA Associate Coach of the Year. As a member of the A team I have also had the opportunity to train and play with the U17 team as well. Wanting to share my love of soccer with others, I have volunteered a few weekends at a local soccer program, playing dribbling games and drills with three- and four-year-olds. This summer I organized a training schedule for my high school team, to promote conditioning, speed, agility, and ball control.
I am scheduled to graduate in 2026; however, I plan to complete my academic requirements in order to graduate in December of 2025. Currently I have an unweighted GPA of 3.63 and a weighted GPA of 4.29. I have succeeded in taking honors and AP level classes since the 8th grade. I have done exceptionally well in earth science and biology and I am enjoying my chemistry class.
In order to manage an intense and demanding soccer and academic schedule, I have learned to manage my time well. I am a determined, hardworking, and coachable student athlete who enjoys working as part of a team. While captain for my high school team over the past three years, I have learned when to step up and take a leadership role as well as knowing when to allow others to lead.
I am looking to attend a college or university that will provide me with the opportunity to play the sport I love and earn an education.
