I started playing soccer when I was 5. However, I have been surrounded by soccer my entire life. My dad is a coach, and my siblings all played soccer. I have always been amazed by the high levels of competition, and I've always thought about being one of those athletes who gets to play in college. I know that if I got this opportunity it could change my life.
I am an excellent defender. I have a big kick, fast legs, and "finesse" as people tell me. I also have a very far throw in. No matter where it is on the field I am the one who takes it. I can get the ball to the penalty line, so for my team it is like taking a corner. I am a team leader as I have been a Captain of my club teams for many years, my JV team for a year, and my varsity team for a year. I strive to do better and to work hard.
Outside of soccer I am involved in many clubs such as SADD, Link Crew, Spanish Club, History Club, and National Honor Society. I work hard in the classroom to maintain a higher GPA. As well as being an acolyte at Zion Episcopal Church in Morris, NY.
Sadly, in the 3rd game of my junior season (2021) I tore my ACL. This has been a huge challenge for me, but it hasn't stopped me. I show up to every single practice and game helping my team, and cheering them on. During this time of injury I am doing what I can to strengthen my weaker foot. Knowing that I will be able to play soccer again is what is keeping me going. I will do whatever it takes to come back stronger then ever for my senior season, and hopefully be able to excel at the Division 2 or Division 3 level in college.
