I have been swimming competitively since I was 8 years old with my local YMCA team. I was recruited for my high school varsity team at the end of 7th grade. Swimming competitively has been a big part of my life; butterfly is my favorite stroke. I have been making progress in the IM over the past two years. I am a soloist in Artistic Swimming, and competed at the Junior Olympics in both technical solo and free solo in 2022. I am very involved in other school activities. I am a member of the percussion section in band, specializing on timpani. I enjoy studying German and in my sophomore year of high school completed a semester course on campus at SUNY College at Oneonta in German I, with an 'A' final grade. I want to study abroad, and did not want to lose my competitive high school, club, or USAAS swim seasons. To achieve this in the summer of 2022, I went to the United Kingdom for a month of study at Cambridge University. I am motivated, thrive with good coaching, am eager to succeed, and interested in a team atmosphere that challenges me while recognizing all that I bring. I want my team to excel and I enjoy cheering for them to achieve their PB in every event they enter. I want to succeed at being a well informed, well educated, a valuable member of a team, and well rounded person in life. I am looking for a college that places high value on academics and understands, as I do, that my classes are the reason I attend college while swimming gives me a competitive, physical outlet with teammates who recognize the importance of balancing life.
