Sander Schuchat '22 Recruiting Profile

A little about me, I have always been passionate about soccer and have felt at home in the goal from day one. I am a goalkeeper, Class of 2022, from Edgemont High School in Scarsdale, New York. I have played up on my high school and club teams since I was 13 years old. At the start of the pandemic, I initiated and led virtual offseason workouts for my varsity team to help keep everyone in shape for the upcoming season, to keep the team connected throughout the pandemic, and to lift the team's spirits at a challenging time. At the start of my junior year, which was my third year as starting goalkeeper on my high school varsity team, I was named team captain. After the finish of the unusual high school season in late November, I was awarded All-League honors and received the team Coaches Award. Then, I transitioned to playing winter tournaments with my club team, Eastern FC Storm 01/02/03, which plays in the Club v. Club division of EDP. I have been playing a year up since I started playing with Eastern FC in 8th grade, and even though I am still 16 and a junior in high school, I now play in the U19/20 age group for my club team. Right now, I am in the middle of my league season and am looking forward to playing at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals this June. Also, I initiated and am running spring captain's practices for my varsity team who are looking forward to competing for a Section One championship this fall.
