Winning the 2023 North Carolina 4A Men's State Championship my junior year would have to be my favorite and most memorable moment in my high school soccer career so far. Although this is my favorite moment, I feel what brought me there was our team getting knocked out during the first round of play-offs the year prior. It gave everyone a reality check and showed us that if we don't work our hardest throughout the whole season, then we wouldn't make it anywhere. Being on the starting eleven roster this year has definitely shown me what it means to be a leader to others, and this experience has brought out a new side to me that demands the best from myself and others, on and off the field.
The environment that I was raised in has been a key factor in helping me grow as a person, student, and as a player. From a young age, doing my best has always been expected of me no matter what it is for, be it family matters, school, or soccer. This mentality of always needing to be a top performer has pushed me to be an A student, ECNL National player, and a starter for my high school team. I have always played soccer. Since age six, I have been kicking a ball around, whether it be on the field, or in the house. I have never really felt like a team leader, but when I was first pushed into the spotlight, I realized how important a strong leader was to have a strong team, and how good I was at being a leader for my team. One of my goals for high school academically is to graduate with a 4.34 GPA or higher, which I am already on track to do as of now. During college I would like to major in business, as I aspire to go into real-estate after completing school. With that being said, I know I have what it takes to be a strong player and leader on the college team I play for.
