William Steeger '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches 

My name is William Steeger, I am a part of the class of 2024 at Holly Springs High School in North Carolina. I have a 3.1 GPA and I am very interested in playing college soccer. I am an outside wing back defender for the Holly Springs varsity soccer team.  I have been a varsity starter for the past two seasons and, this past season I helped lead my team to the least amount of goals conceded in the conference, and a conference championship. I also play for Wake FC 06 NPL South.  We just completed our regular season and will be playing in the USYS Regional Finals in Baton Rouge, LA as well as the NPL National Finals in Denver, Colorado. For my club team I have 7 goals and 12 assists this season.

My playing style is built around speed and aggressiveness. I am confident in my ability to anticipate where the ball or my defensive mark is going to be which allows me to be aggressive in my defending as well as putting me in a positive position to capitalize on opportunities to support my team's attack.  My speed and anticipation afford me opportunities to play a role in our attack while not compromising our defensive shape. 

I work hard on my academics and am constantly seeking out opportunities to learn both in and outside the classroom. I have high expectations for myself and continue to strive towards improving my academic performance. In terms of areas of study, I enjoy the natural sciences and would be interested in pursuing a course of study in either the health, exercise science, or related field.
