Liam Henley '24 Recruiting Profile

Hey, Coaches. I am a member of the Class of 2024 at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, North Carolina. My goal is to play collegiate soccer at a university where I can achieve my educational aspirations and for a team that embraces my tenacious defending and drive to get forward to help on offense.

I grew up in Denver, Colorado and played competitive soccer with the Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club. During the 2022-23 club season, I played right back with the North Carolina Football Club 06 ECNL team and recently competed with my team in the 2023 ECNL National Playoffs. Previously, I was captain of the NCFC 06 Elite ECNL-RL team, playing left wide back and center defensive mid. We finished second in league play with the fewest goals allowed of any team, and we were champions of the Carolina Cup play-offs. My school's 2022 varsity team made it to the state quarterfinals, and I was selected to the All-Region, 1st Team All-Conference, and Ravenscroft Invitational All-Tournament teams.

Academically, I have a 4.32 GPA and earned a 1460 in a single administration of the SAT. I earned all A’s both freshman and sophomore years while taking every available honors class and an AP course. I work even harder on the field, where I believe that improvement is not only accomplished in a team setting, but real improvement is achieved through individual outside practice. 

I've won multiple sportsmanship awards with my club and school teams, I am an elected member of my school’s Honor Council and Upper School Band Leadership Team, and I was selected for the Red Hat Shelton Leadership Challenge at North Carolina State University in summer 2021. I strive to be a leader in the classroom, on the field, and off the field, and to maintain a good relationship with my peers, teachers, and coaches. I appreciate your consideration.
