I have played soccer since I was around four years old and have thoroughly enjoyed the sport all of my life. I was a three-sport athlete in middle school, competing in soccer, basketball, and track, but I have always known that my soccer career would be my main focus, and I decided to solely focus on soccer in high school because of this. I know that the college recruiting process is very selective because coaches want to find not just players that can exceed on the field, but can exceed off the field in both character and the classroom, and I believe I can fit this profile for any university.
I take pride in my strong physical presence on the field coming from my strength, speed, and athleticism, giving me the ability to win balls in both the air and on the ground in all areas of the field and have a high win percentage in 50/50s. I excel at moving into space and providing a passing option for my teammates in both the middle of the field and wide areas, and being able to provide penetrating passes forward when receiving the ball. I have a strong winning mentality in that no matter if I am in a playoff game or just practice, I always want to win and I give everything I have to do so. I strive to be one of the hardest working players you will find as I train individually to master the technical aspect of the game and I put in the work in the gym to improve my speed and physicality.
I excel in the classroom with a 4.262 GPA at one of the highest-regarded schools academically in North Carolina and scoring 1460 on my SAT super-scored, and I will continue to improve both my GPA and SAT scores. By the end of senior year, I will have taken nine AP courses, and many of the AP courses I am taking are regarded as some of the most demanding available. I am a member of the National Honor Society and I do as much to help my local community as I can. I participate in many service organizations, my most involved being Neighbor to Neighbor in which I tutor local kids in the local Hispanic/Latino community, helping them with their reading and writing skills.
I thank you for your time and consideration to read my personal statement and I hope you consider me for the recruiting process for your university.
