Soren Kaster '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Soren Kaster, and I am currently a senior in highschool. I have played soccer for both school and club teams since I can remember.  I am looking to take my skills to the next level at a college where I can both pursue my ideal schooling and perform soccer at a high standard. 

On the field, I am an attacking force, and use my combination of athleticism and technical skills to create chances for myself and other players. I am ambidextrous with my feet, making me dangerous with the ball. I can create space with quick moves and speed on either side in order to finish. My shooting one of my most prominent strengths. With either foot i can shoot with finesse and power. It was this strength that led me to leading our highschool team in goals this season at Sheyenne, and helping us make it to number three at state. This year I hope to take us all the way, as a team captain.  I can beat players on the ball with speed and/or sharp dribble moves. The threat I create on the field also opens up options for other players on my team, and I can effectively use long and short passes to lead them to score. My knowledge on the field as well as athleticism allows me to play nearly any position. I have the most experience playing the midfield (typically attacking), either wing, or a striker.

My academic ability opens a lot of doors when it comes to college acceptance. I have maintained straight As throughout highschool through multiple AP and honors classes (4.00 unweighte, 4.33 weighted). I have a superscore of 32 on the ACT. I am member of national honors society, and aside from soccer I participate in band and art, among other things. I am also on the student leadership team at our church. I plan on majoring in biology, biochemistry, or engineering, and taking pre-medicine as well as biomedical engineering in college.
