Personal Statement
This year, my sophomore year, helped me learn new things about myself on and off the field. Being my first year as varsity captain, I had a lot on my plate. I am a big critic of myself which helped push me to improve my skills as a leader and as an individual player. I used my captains position and self-criticisms to help myself and the team improve in their play and help understand the new formation we played this year. Finally, my captains position helped me become a leader to my team, and hopefully, an example. This position also helped me earn the league sportsmanship award.
I've always taken honors classes because I like to push myself academically. I participated in soccer as well as cross country my freshman year. Being a dual-sport athlete, I was still able to maintain a 4.0 GPA. I would love to continue this path by attending college and playing at the next level. I think my leadership and commitment to academics and sports would make me a great asset at the collegiate level!
