Kaitlyn Truman '22 Recruiting Profile

I am the first one to practice and the last one off the court. I will keep working until I feel I've made progress with each practice and new skill I'm being taught. I play Middle Blocker for my High School Varsity team and we do not have a winning record, in fact...we only won two games in 2020. My mom gave me the option of not playing and focusing on lessons and workouts during that time, I respectfully declined. Even though my high school team has not had a winning season, I will not let them or my coach down by not returning. As hard as it is to lose, I cannot help but present myself with the attitude that progress is always being made and that is what I hold close. Last season, despite finishing last in the league, I lead the league in blocks and received Honorable Mention in our Conference. I take on Middle Blocker as a defensive role. I am focused on the block and that is my job. The previous season, I had the most ace serves on the team. I have played with these ladies since 5th grade and we are a team, win or lose, I stay loyal to them and our program. I very much look forward to my club season to play in a competitive setting amongst top talent. I want to be pushed to my limits so that I can break through them. I enjoy the diversity of my club team and the exposure to new things, places, and overall learning to perform at a higher level.
