My name is Karson Sammons. I am in the class of 2024 and currently attending Westview High School in Portland, Oregon. I play left back for both my club team, United PDX, and my high school varsity team.
I first became interested in soccer when I was a little boy and from then on I couldn’t stop playing. I enjoy playing other sports competitively as well. I played both basketball and track in high school and enjoyed competing in both sports, but neither of them compare to soccer for me. I am one of the most competitive people you will ever meet, so competing in soccer games came naturally to me from a young age. My passion for soccer goes beyond just playing, as I have always enjoyed watching soccer with my Dad and friends.
I have a very balanced outlook regarding college. In addition to a desire to play college soccer, I take my education very seriously and have been able to excel because of it. I am a heavy believer in pushing myself and have taken multiple college-level AP classes each year. It is important to me to find the right mix between soccer and academics when finding the right college fit.
What separates me from other players is that I am willing to do anything the team needs to win. I am a firm believer in sacrificing personal achievements for team success since I desperately want to win. Whatever position I am put in I will always compete and tackle challenges head-on no matter how difficult the task may be.
