My name is Gerald Williams. I have been playing soccer since the age of three. Playing the game has always been my passion. When I played at a younger age I played purely because the game was fun and I still play because the game is fun. Of course there are benefits that come with playing at a high level, but I have never played for those reasons. I am an extremely hard worker and practice 30 or more hours a week. I train so much because I love being on the ball and the environment surrounding soccer. The game has taught me many life lessons and has had a huge effect on the person I am today. I feel that I stand out from others because of how I approach the game. Todays reason to play soccer is all about fame, luxury, recognition, etc.. Not only do I play for a rare reason, but I also have a gift of not getting discouraged after being criticized. I know that if you never get criticized your never learning and if you never learn you can never improve so I am always trying new things and then failing and then improving. I know players that play it safe all the time and do the bare minimum will never get to the highest level and play against the best of the best. Playing men's league or Sunday league is not for me. I love to compete and want to play at the highest level. Soccer is a timer and when the timer rings your done playing. I will do whatever it takes to allow that timer to keep ticking.
