"Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do." - Pele
My goal for my collegiate journey is to follow an academic track that allows me the opportunity to combine my love for sports and medicine. I would like to pursue Sports Medicine whether that be through premed, athletic training, or physical therapy.
My love for soccer began when I was three years old. My birthday is in late September, so I have always been one of the youngest on the team. Like any three year old, I loved scoring goals. I joined my first soccer club when I was six. I played right wing until my seventh grade year when my middle school team found itself without a goalie. I volunteered thinking it would only be temporary and it stuck. I never thought I could love soccer more than I already did but somehow my passion for the game grew. I always doubted myself as an athlete, but being in goal has given me confidence in myself and my athletic abilities. I learn something new every single game and continue to grow as a goalkeeper. I pride myself on my reaction time and the fact that despite being in goal I remain one of the fastest players on my team. I continually work on my strength, stamina, and agility to remain competitive.
Outside of school and club soccer, I am a junior volunteer at my local fire department. Although, I am unable to respond to calls; I enjoy the camaraderie and knowing the tasks I complete help contribute to the bigger picture.
I hope to continue my soccer journey at the collegiate level. I look forward to continue to grow as an athlete and a human being.
