I started playing soccer at a young age and continued to play for LDC United. My head coach, Bill Becher, coaches the local professional soccer team and has been my coach throughout my life. That has allowed me to get exposed to a high level of coaching early. This level of coaching has also taught me how to think smart and make critical decisions on the fly. I would say thoughts about my future soccer career really started to come to me when I hit high school. Playing school soccer helped me in a way that club couldn’t because I was competing against all ages in high school which overall has made me a better player. Being the starting center back for the PIAA State Championship my junior year was fun and all but for the first 2 years of high school I mainly sat on the bench, got in a few times here and their but our coach leaned more towards playing his seniors. When it became my chance junior year I took full advantage of it.
Soccer has taught me so much about life, involving how important things like teamwork, trust and respect are to the game and the real world. Track is a secondary sport to me and I do the long distance side of the events. It has taught me things that play into soccer such as the body is capable of more than the mind thinks. Distance running pushed me to my limits and beyond, now I’m a better soccer player because of it. In school my goal is to boost my GPA and continuously get A’s and B’s. I am interested in playing at a higher level in college and that has always been one of my goals.
