My name is Carsen Childs and the thought of playing college soccer has always excited me. I have played soccer my whole life. In my years of playing dedicated soccer I have honed my skills and have instilled a strong sense of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. These things have allowed me to develop leadership qualities and a strong work ethic allowing me to maintain good grades. I am from a small rural town so as I was developing my game and wanting to be able to play competitive soccer the closest club team to me is an hour drive for me. I went to training 3 times a week and had games that were typically a 2-3 hour drive.
I have been able to adapt quickly to any team I have played on, I’m a creative playmaker and goalscorer who can play on either wing or up top or as an attacking center mid. I have really focused on strengthening my left foot so I can be effective from any position.
I am very athletic and typically the fastest player on the field. I weight train 5 days a week and can bench 205 and squat 245 for reps I also have a 4.5 40 yard dash. This Fall with my Club Voltage FC I was the leading Goal scorer with 12 goals and 9 assists. My team won the mesquite hero’s cup in Nevada where I was the leading scorer on my team with 4 goals including scoring two goals to win the championship game. I feel that I would be a great asset to any collegiate soccer team looking for a dedicated hard working player.
