Reiker Swenson Hi...Personal Statement
Soccer has been my true love since I began competing at age 3. I have led my club and high school team for the past number of years in assists and am also our free kick and penalty specialist.
This year my club team made it to the National Championship NPL Final game, where we unfortunately lost in the finals to a team we previously beat. We also made it to State Cup Semi-finals, losing to the current #13 team in the nation (ranking in GotSoccer). During this season and seasons in the past, my teammates have voted me as co-team captain. Some of their reasons that they’ve shared with me are my positivity and my willingness to give 100% effort in games and trainings, and my desire to always help them be better, as well as my unselfishness with passes/assists. I have led my club and high school teams in assists over the past few seasons.
As a key player, I sometimes put more pressure on myself than I should, but my teammates are more than just teammates to me, they are my family, they are my brothers.
Family: Both of my parents played college sports. My mom, who is 6’4”, played basketball at UCSB/BYU and my dad played soccer in Santa Barbara at the JC level. My dad is a Fire Captain and mom is a Business Administrator. I also have 2 younger sisters.
My goal is to compete in college at a high level and study either Engineering or Business.

- Selected for the Surf Select National Team for the past two years. Over Summer 2021, the team travelled to Florida to play MLS Academy teams. Summer 2022, the team traveled to Valencia, Spain to play against local Spanish academy teams. For both experiences, I was selected from a regional tryout and then national ID camps from across Surf Soccer's Nationwide network of over 40 affiliate clubs.
