Hello my name is Owen Albrecht and I’m a class of 2024 and a midfielder from Seattle WA. I currently play for Seattle United in the ECNL/ECRL league and I wear number 25. Seattle United has one of the most competitive 2006 groups in the country, my team won the State RCL championship in 2022 and lost in PKs in the finals in 2023. I also play for Lincoln HS that won the State Championship in May.
Academics are a top priority for me. I currently hold a 3.75 GPA. I excel in various subjects including science and math. I am very interested in finding the perfect university and soccer program for me. I am not limiting myself to US colleges, regions or to Division 1 programs. I hope to find the best fit coach, program and campus for me.
I’m a versatile, trusted and impact player on my club team. I have an exceptional first touch and 90%+ passing accuracy. I am known for my strength and consistency and always control the midfield. I understand the game and all positions and I am always directing my teammates and helping my coaches with strategy and formations. I play center defending mid and attacking mid positions but I can also play right back and can fill in where needed anywhere on the field.
Soccer has been a huge part of my life. I have played on the top teams at Seattle United since age 6. I have had setbacks and injuries and I am very proud of the fact that I have never given up and continue to excel. My style of play was deeply impacted from my time training with the Girona FC academy in Spain last year. I know the most effective way to play is quick, accurate passing, creativity and good ball movement. I am looking forward to playing in college and being able to play at a higher level. I have been playing street soccer for years with an exceptional group of college, academy and semi pro players and my level of play adapts and excels when I am with other technical and fast players.
My parents were both athletes in college and feel strongly that it helped them tremendously from a mental and physical standpoint. I will do better academically if my days are organized around trainings, and mentally I really thrive in a competitive environment and enjoy the intensity of games. Sport has been a great outlet from studying and helps me maintain a balanced life. I also enjoy skiing and mountain biking, as solo sports but they lack the camaraderie and teamwork that I enjoy in soccer. After earning a degree in business/finance or bioengineering I would like to pursue my career goals while continuing to be involved in soccer through playing and coaching. I have spent my summers helping with soccer camps and really enjoy teaching kids the fundamentals of the game and I love working with my coaches on strategy and tactics.
Please let me know if you need any additional help and looking forward to talking soon,
