When I was 3 years old my mom signed me up to play at the local park in the city we lived in, Newport Beach, CA. Ever since then I have never stopped loving the beautiful game of soccer. We have now moved up to Washington where I began playing competitive soccer when I was 8 at Eastside FC. I joined their junior academy, which really taught me that the game was so much more than just winning. Yet rather it set up a solid foundation through wanting to pursue failure and understanding that when you do lose, it is only setting up an opportunity to learn from your mistakes and grow in yourself as a player and as a human. This is my driving motivation that pushes me to reach the highest level of college soccer because this game is what has transformed me as a person through taking those losses and mistakes in the game, and translating them into everyday life, outside of soccer to grow as an individual. This is why I am such a competitive person, not just because I hate losing but also because I strive to push myself as hard as I can on/off the field, knowing that my mindset is so much psychologically stronger than anyone else, that it will be impossible for anyone to out work me.
I have taken this mindset into playing 7 seasons at the highest level of soccer for my age group, in the past DA and more recently years at the ECNL level. I have been a strong vocal leader for my high school team and demonstrated my leadership qualities on and off the field for my club team. I value hard work and I believe there is no dream to big to achieve if you are consistently putting in the work everyday, which God willing, will eventually translate into God's chosen result for your sacrifices.
I value my academics at a very high standard. I go to a rigorous, academic focused private high school that pushes me in every class to work hard not only to get a good letter grade, but apply the lessons in a way that I can use them in my everyday life.
