Elijah Smith '25 Recruiting Profile

I am Elijah Smith, a goalkeeper since the age of 5, a member of the graduating class of 2025, currently attending Columbia River High School playing varsity soccer. I also play for United PDX Premier Soccer Club, and the Oregon ODP.

I possess multiple qualities that will help me succeed in achieving my goals and help me stand out as an athlete:

• - I work well with others.
• - I listen attentively and establish good communication with my coaches and teammates.
• - I demonstrate leadership abilities on the field.
• - In my position as keeper, I have developed a strong tactical and strategic understanding of the game.
• - I show determination; I put in the work and do not walk away when the going gets tough.
• - I am mentally prepared and have keen understanding of the difference between what “I want to do” and what needs to be done so that my team is successful.
• - It does not matter if I’m a starter or a substitute, I constantly strive to outwork the person I was yesterday, because I am driven and have the desire to be the best I can be on and off the field.

After earning an advanced degree in marketing or engineering, my future goal would be to couple this degree with my passion for soccer and seek a career in designing and marketing sports apparel. While soccer is my true calling, I consider myself to be a well-rounded individual, I have a strong academic performance, am artistically inclined and enjoy the great outdoors.
