Hello, my name is Eliam Almaguer Duran I am a current senior at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Milwaukee. Going into college has been what I have consider for myself moving forwards for my next years in education and playing career , with the hopes of also chasing a playing career after my education. I have been involved with the game since the age of 5, throughout my years there has been many ups and downs with opinion wise of my game quality. I have managed to realize that if I want to be a player that wants to reach its full potential I’m able to, and is what I have been doing day in and out. I started playing club for ACE soccer club back in the days but wasn’t able to continue due to financial difficulties. I then played for Barvarians at the age of 15, where I was only involved with the B team due that I was new to the club and wasn’t at my best potential yet mentally and physically. With only playing one year for the club, I learned a lot about my self as a player and person, I gave it my all for the B team and the teammates I had were a unique experience I could never forget, due to family problems and financial issues I had to get out and not play club for that time. I knew I had potential in me to show that I can be a player that can mark a difference even in the small details. I kept playing in random leagues and training as well, until I came across high school. Throughout my high school years of having the experience to play against a lot of club players and nun club players it taught me there is no difference between us, the only major impact is the amount of work that is put in and how committed someone can be to this sport, for good things to come out in result. From my past fall season from my senior year being captain for the boys varsity soccer team at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, we were ranked 3 in the State for Division 4 and we’re all conference champions, where we had a lot of success not only for me but for all of our player. With being a left back/ winger I provided 5 assists and 10 clean sheets this season due that I believe I committed to being there for my teammates and being a leader to taking the right decision towards the decision. With having a successful season, being a major part of the teams defense and offenese, I know I can play at a high level with the right mental side of the game and as well having the urge to keep improving my game, even if it’s to arrive 2-3 hours early to practice and stay 2-3 hours after practice, due that I enjoy to always being active but wanting to train as much as I can and taking risks when there’s a chance so it can lead me to a better future. If being considered by any school that is interested in me, I will never settle for any less than doing the work I need to do and I know I can be someone people can learn from and earn my respect from them due that I have managed to not only work hard whenever I want to, but having a work ethic that involves quality over quantity, making the right desicions for my body, and as well time managing to balance my own personal life and my team.
