I learned how to swim with a bungee cord around my waste in a 7 meter pool in my backyard. Quarantine kept me out of real pools, so I was relegated to the cord and the light weights I could find lying around the house. I would ask my parents to video tape my form so I could send it to my coach for form tips, and we eventually figured out how to place a waterproof camera at the bottom of the pool for an optimal angle. In the following season I dropped 9 seconds in the 100 yard breaststroke, shattered a school record by 3 seconds, and swam at CIF.
I am committed, I train thoughtfully, and I engage fully. I do not quit. I am a positive and motivating teammate, and I will stop at nothing to be my best. I am a well balanced person, maintaining a 4.0 gpa in tandem with my training.
Everything I do I do with passion. I was born for this. Bring it on!
