Dillon Bean '14 Recruiting Profile

I am  5'10"  from Ashley, Illinois.  I have been swimming competitively since I was 9 years old. I started on the local summer league and moved up from there.  I have received the summer league MVP 3 times as well as making it to districts and the state meet during high school.  I have a 3.167 GPA. I am planning on taking the ACT during my junior year. I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the pool.  Team work and friendship as well as hard work and drive are important to me.  I would like to pursue a university with an academic reputation in the field of marine biology or environmental sciences, maybe even oceanography.  My athletic environment would be one where I could make an immediate impact on the team or greatly contribute to the success of the team. I believe my best fit would be at the DII or DIII level, although I will absolutely consider higher academic opportunities. I am currently the Assistant Coach for the summer swim team the Nashville Blue Racers. I train mostly the younger swimmers and help them with stroke development.
