Hi my names Ian Gamboa Arzate, Im 17, and i attend the HS of art and design. In college I hope to swim for a dedicated, academically profound, and uplifting swim team to create long lasting memories and break records alongside my teammates. I am a determined, punctual, charismatic and adaptive individual who will be a great asset to any team. I pull my weight and I always look out for helpful criticism. Academically I will strive to be the best student I can be and seek help when I need it. For the past two years I have worked as a NYC lifeguard during the summers, working 48 hours a week. I learned responsibility, punctuality and became more detail oriented. Being a lifeguard required heavy attention to people in the pool and pool safety behaviors. My experience on swim teams all throughout my schooling and working as lifeguard, I learned to be adaptable and work well with others to create community. In college, I will show up to all the practices and work towards lowering my times. In addition to perfecting my strokes. Characteristically I have been called easy going, driven, compassionate, charismatic, and thoughtful. I will always put others first, and my family is my top priority.
