My name is Brandon Minaker. I am a 2024 grad from High School of Economics and Finance in New York City. I am highly dedicated competitive swimmer with more than 10 years’ experience. I am currently on a National Swim Team (Scarlet Aquatics BMS). My best events are the following: 50 free (23.53), 100 free (52.00), 100 fly (58.32), 200 free (1:56.59), 200 IM (2:10.30) and 400 IM (4:57.55). I currently hold a 3.8 GPA with AP courses. Aside from school and swimming, I work as a Swim Instructor teaching survival skill for infants and young children at British Swim School. I recently joined the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA), non-profit organization, that aims to prevent drowning among both adults and adolescents. Becoming a formal member of this association made me passionate for stopping drowning for kids. I have a dream of becoming a Physician one day as I’ve had the opportunity to shadow many amazing physicians, such as podiatrists and plastic surgeons during my summer internship. I come from a Ukrainian family. My parents are very important to me. They’re involved in the technology and finance world. We’ve been incredibly active in supporting those who we know impacted by the war, but also trying to maintain our life and culture.
