Personal Statement

My aspirations are to swim at the collegiate level and to get a quality education at the same time. At this point in my life I feel that I would like to have a career in a science related field.  My father played football on the collegiate level and still feels to this day that it was one of the best experiences of his life.  I want to have that same experience and I think I could through swimming.  I am dedicated to practicing and getting better.  I have only been swimming for one year but I already love the sport and I know I am getting better with each practice.  It would really be a dream come true if I have the chance to swim in college.

  • My first experience with swimming started November of 2012. I had never swam for anyhthing but fun before that time. I decided to try out for my high school team and I quickly rose to the A Team Relays and had the fastest times in the freestyle. My stamina was my biggest weakness but I knew I was hooked on swimming and that I had a goal to swim at the collegiate level, therefore, I decided to join the Wingate Aquadogs. I also had a personal coach that I worked with in addition to team practice.

  • I did not begin training for swimming until November of 2012 with my high school team. I started training with the Wingate Aquadogs in March of 2013. I have only been swimming for one year but my times are competitive with swimmers that have been training for many more years. My times for all my events have dropped with each meet.
