When I was five years old, my parents signed me up for swimming, I have been an avid fan ever since! My official swim career started at age nine with the Lake Olympia Tiger Sharks Summer League. During middle school, I joined my school swim team, and earned the team MVS (most valuable swimmer) award in 8th grade. My freshman year in high school, I made the Varsity swim team. My passion for swimming began to grow along with my competitive spirit. In order to sharpen my skills and get more intense training, I joined Swim Houston Aquatic Center (ShAC), a year round swim program. As a member of ShAC, I will have an opportunity to attend training with Olympic Champions Cody Miller and Josh Davis. I am looking forward to learning all I can from them to help me improve my speed and technique.
During my freshman year in high school I qualified for Regionals, but I was unable to participate because I was exposed to COVID. This made me more determined to work harder my sophomore year. I worked very hard this year and placed second in the district for my 100 Yard Free, decreasing my time by 2.48 (Final time 55.29). I qualified for Regionals and was able to participate in four events: 200 Medley Relay, 100 Yard Free, 200 Yard Free Relay and 100 Yard Breast. I am proud to state that due to my hard work and dedication, I was able to earn my Letterman jacket. To me this is symbolic representation of all of my hard work.
One of my extracurricular activities include Cub Scout. I started as a Cub Scout in the first grade and continued until I crossed over to Boy Scouts. I enjoy outdoor activities (camping, bike riding and parkour), I am a little bit of a daredevil, not afraid to try new things. I also enjoy online gaming. I previously wanted to join the ninja warrior junior trainings.
My long-term goal is to become a Mechanical Engineer because I like to design and figure out the inner workings of things. I am currently enrolled in some AP/Advanced classes, and currently have a 4.7 GPA on a 6 point scale. I am scheduled to graduate in 2024, and my plan is to attend a college that will challenge me intellectually while allowing me to represent my school as a member of their swim team. I want to be able to continue growing to become the BEST that I can BE.
I am a well-rounded person, with a down to earth personality. My parents have taught me and my sibling’s to live by the “Golden Rule”. This rule has helped shape who I am as a person and as an athlete and I plan to continue using this rule throughout all my future endeavors.
Thank you for taking time to read my profile.
Be Blessed,
Kyle Moore (K.D.)
