Some of my earliest memories are of swimming with my brother and teammate at the pool in the summer. I loved being a part of my summer swim teams growing up. However, I never fully committed to swim as a kid because I had other interests, too, and didn't want to just do one sport. When I reached high school, because I had only ever done summer swim, I didn't consider trying out for the high school team. As my freshman year went on, I realized how much I missed swim, so at the end of my freshman year, I committed to swimming year-round and trying out for the high school team.
A year and a half later, in my second season of high school and club swim, I love it more than ever and am looking to continue to grow and develop as a swimmer in college. I know I still have time to drop, but I also know because I've only been doing this full-time for a year-and a half, that I still have a lot of room for growth.
My sister is a diver on NC State's Swim and Dive team, so I am familiar with the camaraderie that comes with and the dedication necessary to be a member of a collegiate team. With that being said, academics are always a priority as I am student-athlete. As a result of my involvement with Virginia DECA, I am comfortable speaking in front of large audiences and love talking to and connecting with different people.
I look forward to speaking with coaches in the future!
