Mateo Haeuser '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Mateo Haeuser and I will be a 2024 graduate from Arrowhead Union High School located in Hartland Wisconsin. I have been a part of my high school state team every year and have been a valuable and meaningful team member. We placed the past two seasons 2^nd at Division 1 state, and in my freshmen year, we placed 3^rd. Currently, I am swimming for Lake Country Phoenix and I wrapped up my performance at NCSA Spring Championships and starting training for the long course season.

This past season has been my best season. During my high school training, I paid close attention to diet and sleep to see how I could affect my performance in the water. Within 3 months of doing this, I was able to drop over 3 seconds in my 100 breast and become an All-American Honorable Mention. In my 50 freestyle, I dropped almost a second. I placed 8^th in my 100 breast and 16^th in my 50 free at D1 state. I believe that I can improve so much more and will continue making goals for myself.

This year in particular I have become a very valuable asset in relay performances. I was leg 4 in the 200 Medley relay and Leg 4 in the 200 free relay as well. I have dropped a second in my relay splits as well and hope to continue shaving time.

I am also very invested in the swimming world by taking on the role of being the girl's swim and dive team manager for their next season. I do the timing for meets and attend All-State banquets as well.
