1. Collegiate Goals--to compete at the highest level of my potential, ultimately to reach my dream of playing professionally.
Academic goal-to get into premed and prepare for the MCAT or plan to gain acceptance to a military academy and play tennis.
2. What makes me a good college teammate (aside from just being a great player) is my integrity, attitude and character, which are the foundation on which success in any area is built. I believe in helping others to be their best. I believe relationships are more important than anything else. I love people.
3. What makes me different in character, academics and athletics is my relentlessness and perseverance to stay true to my process. I dont miss practice (2 a day). EVER. I practice over every holiday. I did not miss one practice during Covid when almost every court was shut down-not one. I play more matches per year (between 110-120 per year) than anyone Ive researched on UTR. In fact I have more losses on UTR than most players have total matches. I do all of it to stay true to my process and more importantly because I LOVE IT! One of my training mantra's is, "If its not fun, whats the point." Other's are "Chatacter Matters," "Embrace the Suck," "If you think you can, you can," "Growth Mindset," and "Show up and do the work".
My life philosophy is based on having strong character, self discipline, integrity and a great sense of humor! Seriously my jokes are the best.
I pride myself on my fitness and work ethic. I can play all day long. I love the grind and embrace the suck. Nobody outworks me on the court or in the classroom.
I specialize in setting daily goals in life and for each of my 2 daily tennis practices to propel me to my long term goals.
My favorite books include:
Mentally Tough Me-My Coach, Justin Bower
The Inner Game of Tennis-Tim Gallwey
Winning Ugly-Brad Gilbert
Champion Minded-Alistair McCaw
Can't Hurt Me-David Goggins
Never Finished-David Goggins
