I have a lot of interests and I'm looking for a school where I can grow as a person, strengthen the skills I have and learn new ones. Some of these interests include: psychology, graphic design, marketing, photography, law and languages, especially Spanish. I don't know exactly how these fit together yet in terms of a degree or a specific career but I am certain I will find a way to engage in the world with these key elements as part of who I will become in the future.
I spent the first 12 years of my education in a Montessori environment. This methodology fosters a great deal of independence and offers a lot of experiential learning. It aims to promote creative, self-motivated students and because of it, I am an expressive, confident, lifelong learner. During my time at Inly School, I had several internships, participated in the Model UN and traveled to Guatemala to teach English to school children. I thrived at Inly. It was an extremely influential part of who I am.
Since Montessori, I have been a student in a top-ranked public High School. This environment is quite different from Montessori. Hingham High School is a traditional school that values strong communication skills and high academic achievement as well as sports. In this environment, I have also flourished. I have taken almost all honors classes and proven that I can adapt quickly to new ideas and practices. At HHS, I have also had the opportunity to excel in tennis. I made Varsity freshman year playing second doubles, and was already first singles in my sophomore year. I have been playing tennis since I was a toddler. While I enjoy golf, snowboarding and other sports, tennis is my passion and I play year round. During my High School career, I have also worked 20 hours a week at a local grocery store during the school year and spent the summers interning for a marketing firm as a photographer and videographer.
I am an honest, hard-working, responsible person looking forward to this next stage in my life at a college and with a tennis team where I can succeed.
