I am looking to keep developing my game at an accelerated pace after juniors and through college. The college program that would fit me best would have a great academic reputation, tough opposition on its tennis schedule and a major focus on player development. Ultimately my top goal is to stay on the path to taking a shot at becoming a professional tennis player after college. I believe I have the smarts, athleticism and talent to beat the long odds and make it as a pro on the tour.
You can infer some of my character strengths from my results on Universal Tennis. I always fight to the end of a match, never pull out of a backdraw unless seriously injured, and always enter the doubles portion of a tournament when it's available. I am one of the hardest workers at my tennis academy and any of the coaches there would agree with that claim. People in Florida tennis know me as a player who is quick, tenacious and highly competitive. Between studies and tennis training I don't have much free time but when I do it's mostly spent watching sports on TV or going for a bike or a run.
I think the most important summary of my tennis accomplishments and goals is that my story isn't finished yet and I'm fully committed to reaching the top of the sport. I'm still getting better every day and my ceiling is nowhere in sight. I started tennis a bit late when I was 10, maintained multiple sports (soccer and baseball) until I was 12, and did not repeat eighth grade like so many other kids do. Any coach or program that passes on me simply because my UTR or my Tennis Recruiting is a bit lower than other players is not looking at the whole picture. I am the player who will continue to work hard through all four years of college to become the best I can be.
As for academics, I know this is the most important thing in my life because even if I turn pro I will need a great career after tennis. I think I want to pursue a Business degree but remain open to learning more about the medical and legal professions. I have a 4.3 GPA in high school and I want to retain a high GPA through college as well.
