Personal Statement
My name is Savan Chhabra and my goal is to go to a good college and play tennis on a collegiate team.
My normal day isn't probably like most peoples. I go to school from 8-12:30 and play tennis from 1:00-7:00 with an hour break in between. I spend more hours playing tennis than at school but I still do a lot of school at home. I have played since I was 2 years old with the inspiration of my dad, a foam ball, and a smiley face on the back of the front door. In the entrance of our house, I would hit the smiley face over and over. My parents would cheer and I would keep going!
My grandfather was a badminton captain in college and my father played D1 tennis and played some futures tournaments. I happily come from a family of Tennis athletes. My older sister plays at a D1 school in Colorado and my younger sister is top 10 in 16’s. I was number 1 in Texas in 12's and top 10 in the nation. In 16’s, I am currently top 10 in Texas and top 150 in the nation. I feel my strengths are my team spirit and leadership skills. My favorite tournament of the year is Zonal’s and Spring Team Nationals because they are both team tennis formats
I feel I am a doubles specialist and that I can play with multiple different types of players. I have a lot of experience by playing doubles attack where I train at Brookhaven tennis academy in Dallas, Texas with adults and college players
Coaches say my tennis IQ is very high because I have a good understanding of the game by making the right shots
I am fully committed and dedicated to tennis and would love to play on your team.
