Evan Balizado '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Evan Balizado. I am currently a senior at Chandler Prep. I am 17 years old and I weigh 110 pounds. I am a young and light senior. My fastest times are 4:41 for the 1600m, 10:18 for the 3200, and 16:53 in the 5k(XC). 

I started running in middle school. In my eighth grade year, I would have been the fastest runner on my high school's team. While the team was not very fast a few years ago, we are now contesting for a state championship. Every year in High school I have broken the school record in the 1600,3200 and 5k. I have been #1 on varsity every year of high school. Because of this, I have always had to push myself in practice.  With no one in front of me, I have had to work myself not just physically but also psychologically.  I have never been injured. The thing that has kept me going throughout middle school and high school is my love of running.  Without loving what I do, I could never wake up early every day to beat the heat, spend hours watching race videos and pouring over stats, or lift four days a week. 

I have always wanted to be a college athlete. I would love to go to a large school with winters that will not freeze me. I am interested in engineering and would love to major in it.  I believe I can be an asset to any University I attend.
