Personal Statement

Hello, I am Victor Enriqi Serrano, and I know what it is like to be in a hospital for weeks, I know the suffering of being in a hospital for weeks on end, I know what it's like for a doctor to tell you that “you have a brain tumor in your head that we cannot cure, that we are still studying your rare condition”, the words told to me by my primary doctor and the one thing that he said stuck to me the most is that “you can die at any moment in your life, you can die in your sleep or your wake”,

Over the last six years, my health has been a big part of me having so many headaches and missing school, and because of that, I had subpar grades. Due to my weight increase, I gained more health problems. I started my journey to change my health habits and gain confidence. I was lazy for the first four years, eating, never working out just wanting for something to happen, I tried once, I was doing track and field but my laziness got the better of me and I left, but during my junior year in high school my Counselor asks me what are your going to do after high school at the time I was doing football but my primary doctor said that I can not do football anymore becsue of the risk i would endure during college, I want to go to college for football but now I was stuck becasue i wanted to do it i love it but my tumor didn't , but later in the year I did go back to track and field once more and I didn't give up and I went through the season go to practice then not going beating my laziness and at the end of my season for 2023 i became MVP thrower of the year, at that moment i was certain i want to go to college for track and field becoming a thrower, i want to go to the olympic games, why i have big dreams and why i have gone so far is becasue of my family and most importantly my father, a salvdoran that had nothing coming to american at the age of 23 years old learning a whole new lagague, now teaching me spanish and movtiating me to learn more spanish and teaching me about what my ancestor were in the past, my father is hard on me because if i keep going like this i wont be able to follow my dream to go to college to have a career, seeing what people like me having bigger dreams as me, living in it, and seeing other communitys and seeing their achievements at a Prestigious school’s and seeing what might i do to further education, i can’t see myself not succeeding in what i love, throwing, learning, and exploring other part of the world around me with all that i have to said with what i have done, With all of my experiences i have lived in, it made me a well rounded person that has increase my ambitions, all of this is a part of the reason why i want this experience to go to your school

Thank you for your time and i hope you consider me to you school
