2023 SpotlightPersonal Statement
I like to set goals and challenge myself. Given the opportunity to run in college, I would definitely take it and run as hard as I can. This past season (Sophomore XC), I had an injury for part of the season, so I just did as much physical therapy on my own every day to recover. This discipline allowed me to get back to racing, and come back to help my team win the last race of the season.
My Senior running goals:
- 15:20 for 5k
- 4:15 for the mile
- 9:10 for the two-mile
As a second sport, I also do Mountain Biking, which typically means spending anywhere from 12-20 hours a week on the bike in the spring season.

The National team program is for high-school athletes who plan to compete for USA Cycling ranking and race in the National Cross Country Mountain Bike event at the end of the season in July. These athletes are supported by our Pro and Elite cyclists. National team members practice foundational skills, fitness, and know how to communicate well with coaches.
