My name is Kahar Briggs. I am a 5’8”, 150 pound, sprinter from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Outside of sports, I was a student in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program with a 3.0 weighted GPA and a 1030 SAT score. I was also heavily involved with my school and my community, acting as a student ambassador for a local nonprofit, Educating Children of Color Inc., sitting on the equity council at Harrison High School, and being a member of the Student Leadership program at Harrison High School. I currently attend Tennessee State University majoring in Biology.
On the track, I have ran on the varsity level since my sophomore year. At the time of this recording, I have a 11.20 PR in the 100m dash and a 23.34 PR in the 200m dash. I am also the starter for the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400m relays. As a result of my contributions, I was fortunate enough to be honored by Colorado Prep Report as a 2021 Track All-Star Honorable Mention and as a top sprinter in the Class of 2022.
It has always been a dream of mine to run collegiate track and I am seeking an institution that will help me become the best version of myself on and off the track. It is important to me that I am a part of a team that values academics as much as they do athletics. I am going to pursue Biology in the future and I know that experience as a collegiate track athlete would be beneficial towards that goal. I understand the leadership qualities, determination, and work ethic necessary to be successful on the next level and I hope to exhibit those traits on your team and realize my dream!
