At first I ran cross country and track as conditioning for basketball, but once I played basketball freshman year of high school, I realized my passion for running was more than just conditioning. I started to take cross country and track more seriously and constantly wanted to improve my times. I love my teammates and how close we have gotten even though I am 1 or 2 years younger than them.
In the classroom, I work hard to get excellent grades, similar to how I work hard to improve my times on the track. I learned what hard work is through running and I take that hard work everywhere with me, including my classes.
I love this sport because you can't get lucky. It is all hard work and effort and your times will show that.
