Dear Coaches,
My name is Tommy Lapham and I have been running since I was 10 years old. I started running for my school in 6th grade for cross country. Then in 8th grade I was pulled up to the Varsity Cross Country team. But I work hard on correctly balancing my work in and out of school with running. I realize that my studies are very important. Throughout my school career I have been improving my GPA and focusing hard in and out of class. I am also zeroing in on what I want to study in college. Last year I achieved the high honors award for both semesters in my sophomore year and I intend to do even better this junior year.
Cross Country along with indoor and outdoor track, triathlon sprints, half marathons, and year round cross training have created me to have determination and grit. I have learned to use this with my studies. I have learned to set goals with my training and use my competition to better myself. I love the team aspect as well as the personal side of things. I like making changes to better myself and my team.
