My name is Ethan Sage and I am a Junior from Eagle, Idaho. I attend Cole Valley Christian High School and have competed at the varsity level for three cross country seasons and have competed at the Idaho State cross country meet all three years. My personal record for the cross country 5k is a 16:20.0.
I also have competed in track and field for two years and am just getting started with my third season. My personal records in track are 2:02.10 (800m), 4:40.72 (1600m), and a 10:15.07 (3200m). I competed in the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m at the Idaho High School State Championships my sophomore year and placed 6th in all three of my events. My goal is to beat my personal records and be a strong competitor at the Idaho State Meet this year.
My team relies on my leadership abilities both in the classroom and in athletics. This year, my junior year, I was captain of my cross country team, and am working to lead my team to a state championship next year. On the academic front, I have been a member of my high school's leadership council both my sophomore and junior year. In the classroom, I challenge myself to work to my highest abilities. I have a 3.98 GPA and take the most rigorous classes my school has to offer. I have a strong desire to learn and am looking for a college that not only has a strong athletic program, but also has outstanding academics. And, in the community, in my offseason and during the summer, I volunteer weekly at our local Boys and Girls Club. Last summer, I introduced the older students at the Boys and Girls Club to Spike Ball.
I am looking for a college institution that has a strong Pre-Med program that will prepare me for success after college and getting into Medical School. I also would like to attend a college that has a strong athletic program where I can be successful and grow as a runner.
It is my intention to work harder than I ever have before in my last few years of high school, and will do everything I can to make the most of any opportunities I have earned or that have been given to me.
