Personal Statement
In my opinion, I feel like I would make an excellent candidate for any team. I am very coachable and I can be a great leader for my team. I am a very shy and quiet runner, but once I get comfortable with my fellow teammates, I am friends with everybody. My goal for track is to get better. I am always willing to try new things if it will make me become a decent runner. I have always been the kind kid that is willing to help anyone out.
I have ran track since 6th grade. I made it to state my 7th grade year for the 4x400, 8th grade year for the 400M, and 8th grade year for the 4x400. I received 11th in state my 7th grade year for the 4x400, 7th in state for the 400M my 8th grade year, and 6th in state for the 4x400 my 8th grade year. In 8th grade, I beat my 400M school record. It used to be 58.9, but not I currently hold it at 58.3. I have been on varsity track since my sophomore year. I could not run that much my freshman year due to a concussion I received from a bus accident. My sophomore year, I had to be an alternate for the 4x400 team at conference. We ran 3:39.58 and received 2nd place, but it was not recorded under my name and stats. I have shin splints and a tight Achilles' tendon. I stretch my Achilles' tendon and I do exercises for my shins everyday. I wear compression socks for my shins. Occasionally, I have excruciating pain in my shins, but I always try to run through the pain. It would truly be an honor to have the opportunity to run with a team in college!
In the classroom, I am currently holding a 3.85 cumulative GPA. I have been informed that I have made National Honors Society.
