First, I wanted to say I will be getting video very very soon. It is very hard with this pandemic to find a facility that has a jumping pit for long jump and triple jump.
All my life I have been passionate about basketball. Training daily because I wanted to play basketball in college like most athletes do with any sport. 8th grade year I decided to run Track and Field after basketball season and instantly fell in love with the sport. Freshman year came along and I was running track, getting 19ft for long jump and 36ft for triple jump. Then, out of no where I developed Patellar Tendinitis, or jumpers knee, in my right knee which caused me not to be able to run track the rest of outdoor season my freshman year. (4 weeks I was out).
Sophomore year came and I was feeling amazing, working on my muscles in my legs to prevent Tendinitis from happening again. Outdoor season came after basketball season ended and I was jumping 100%. Achieved a PR of 20'8 to get myself into running state.
This year I was hoping I could return to state and place on the podium. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, every other track and field athletes dream of going to state was denied.
I have been working on my form for jumping, constantly working on my muscles and working on exercises to improve those muscles. My dream is to run Track and Field in college and I will do anything to achieve that dream.
