My name is Tyler Colwell and I’m going to be a senior at Minooka Community High School. I have always been a big soccer guy but as my high school years progress, I find myself falling in love even more with track. I love being able to see the progression I make as I push myself to the limits, while also watching my friends compete and experiencing the development of our team as a family.
Academics are just as important to me if not more than athletics. I have a 4.6 weighted GPA and a great work ethic which allows me to stay focused both in class and on the track. I love to challenge myself with harder classes because I think that you can learn and develop much more as an individual when you’re outside of your comfort zone.
I like to think of myself as a leader within our track program, congratulating teammates when they hit new PRs and helping them keep their heads up after a poor performance. I hope to get them to enjoy the sport as much as I do.
For my final year in high school, I would like to become a consistent low 10 100m and low 21 200m sprinter. It would be awesome to go down to EIU and take home the IHSA state championship with my teammates.
