I believe that I will develop into a great college runner, and be an asset to any college team. I am a very hard worker! I am only two seasons into distance running. I have a 15:21 3m PR at Conference earning first team all conference in Cross Country. I swam this winter to help my endurance. I know it helped, but with 2a day practices, I let my mileage slip. I started off the track season slow, I had a PR in the 800, 2:01, and ran a PR in 3200 10:27, my mile best was 4:41. Between swimming, and weights, and a growth spurt, I grew 2", and 25pounds, and had a hard time getting my times down. I am working towards 500 miles this summer, and another 500, on the bike. I want to break 15 this XC season, and go to State. Go Dragon's Not thru yet, made State looking for top 25 after coming off my hamstring strain the week of conference. The monkey is off my back, and it my time to shine. I ran through sectionals, without a taper. I finished 78th in 3a with a 15:20 and a new PR on a soggy Detweiller course. I beat all the guys from our Regionals, and the winner of our Sectionals, and finished 3rd of our Sectional qualifiers. Now on to NXN where I strained my hamstring on the downhill, I finished with a disappointing 17:04. I was supposed to represent Team Illinois on the 18th, but decided to let my injury heal up. I am taking a much needed 3 week break from running, and will be working my mileage back up starting in December. Hopefully a great track season awaits the Dragon's.
