Slader Buckheister '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Slader Buckheister and I am a multi-sport athlete from Cedar Rapids Iowa.  I have played high school and club baseball for many years while also running varsity cross country and track as a freshman.  I am hard working both in athletics and in the classroom.  I started taking high school courses in middle school and currently have a 4.42 GPA.  My academic and athletic goals are to always perform at my best and to lift up those around me.  I have competed in extracurricular academic clubs such as Mock Trial, Future City, Junior stock market challenge, and National History, winning All-State Honors 2 years in a row for Mock Trial and competing at state 4 years in a row, winning state Mock Trial in 2021.  I look forward to continuing these activities and participating in others throughout my high school career.

I aspire to be a student athlete at the collegiate level and I am looking for a challenge both athletically and academically.  I am a driven individual and willing to put in the extra work needed.  I am currently adding to my cross country regimen by training 6 days a week in the off-season as well as lifting and cross-training daily.  I am also looking to further my education at a school which I am able to give back and help the cross country and track team be successful.
