I'm looking to pursue a career in Animal Science, specifically Veterinary Medicine. I believe heavily in being a Student before an Athlete. I love running and competing, but my main priority is to receive the degrees. I would say I'm a versatile athlete. I have been through 2 or 3 Coach changes in my high school career. I've been taking college classes through Marshalltown Community College. I've received the Sportsmanship award from Cross country and track all 3 years I've done those sports. I try my best to shake hands or hug every one of my competitors after my races. I believe that whether in victory or defeat, you should be grateful you were given a body to perform in the sports you do. I have more respect for the guy finishing last than I do the guy finishing first. The one who is last is pushing himself to the absolute limit and even in the face of adversity of losing a race they still push themselves to finish that race. That deserves recognition.
