I've been around the sport of running as long as I can remember from running local 5ks to running with my grandfather who has been running for 40+ years. I started running for a team in 2017 as a 7th grader in track and then my 8th grade year I started cross country. I didn't get serious about running until the summer before my freshman year after I was All State in the 3200 for track with minimal training and I realized I could do something with my abilities if I took running seriously and started working hard. Since then I've received 3 more All District, All Region, and All State in the 1600 and 3200. I've also received 3 1st Team All District and All State honors in cross country, including a District MVP for cross country. Even though I've received those honors I'm still not satisfied and want to improve. Those achievements have come with their struggles, mostly mental struggles. I'm not the fastest naturally and I let that hold me back sometimes when I go against against other athletes who I know are naturally better, instead of using my hard work and drive to beat or compete with those guys. The biggest and most important thing that I have learned from my career as a runner is that every season isn't about improving times or getting better physically, some seasons are about becoming stronger mentally and becoming more confident. I don;t like to brag or talk about myself but I'd say my greatest characteristic is that I want to be the best at what I do, but not just in running, in school, and just life in general. I love getting up early before school and getting a run in or having to run late at night. I will do any and everything to improve myself. I wouldn't be where I am without the love and support from my coaches, family, and most importantly God.
