" There is no passion to be found playing small in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living" ( Nelson Mandela). I have goals. I have dreamed of competing as a collegiate athlete and I am constantly working hard to achieve that goal. I know it is within my grasp. I train to increase my athletic abilities and maintain good health. I am a three season athlete football, indoor track, and outdoor track. I train and compete in my home state of Maine and out of it. I have earned a place at New Balance Indoor Track and Field Competition in my sophomore year. I will be back this season to compete there again. I am proud to be a leader both on and off the track. I am committed to Boy Scouts and have earned my Eagle Award. Volunteering is an integral part of scouting I have adopted these values as my own. I frequently baked for the disabled and have coached shot put for younger kids for several seasons and I regularly volunteer to staff at the younger kids outdoor track meets. I have a scout as long as i have been competing in a variety of sports and I value the athletic environment. I personally thrive in the supportive yet very competitive track and field environment. Both experiences have taught me about, hard work, determination, community, leadership, and brotherhood, all qualities that I bring into the circle. I have been honored to represent my school at the Southern Maine athletic Association Leadership Conference. The right college for me is one where I will be developed both as a shot puter and a student. I want to be part of the collegiate sports avenue where I will bring my absolute personal best every time I step into the circle. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement. I appreciate it.
